Dori’s Prenatal Story:
Dori’s journey into teaching prenatal and postnatal yoga began about a year after she started teaching yoga. Early on, she noticed a lack of confidence when pregnant women attended her classes and felt called to deepen her knowledge so she could teach with greater ease, confidence, and safety, creating an inclusive space for all students, pregnant or not.
As her teaching continued to expand, Dori completed her prenatal and postnatal yoga training the following year with the same teacher, offered just five hours from where she lived. It felt like a clear sign, and she eagerly stepped into the training. Shortly afterward, Dori became pregnant herself, fully immersing herself in the prenatal yoga experience. Remarkably, three of her closest friends in Costa Rica were also expecting at the same time.
This divine timing allowed Dori to lead prenatal yoga classes alongside friends she deeply trusted and adored. All four women welcomed their babies within a month of one another, making the transition into teaching Mommy & Me yoga a natural next step. During her first trimester, Dori even competed in a stand-up paddle board race, all while continuing to lead retreats and teacher trainings in Costa Rica.
This shared journey into motherhood and sisterhood profoundly deepened Dori’s confidence and strengthened the bond between the women and their babies. The support they provided one another was immeasurable, and those friendships remain strong to this day.
After returning to the United States, Dori resumed teaching in studios throughout Jacksonville, continuing to grow and nurture her maternal community through prenatal, postnatal, and Mommy & Me yoga. She eventually opened her own studio in 2014, Soluna, where these offerings continue today through a team of experienced instructors, all trained by Dori through her programs.
In 2017, Dori began offering prenatal, postnatal, and Mommy & Me yoga teacher trainings locally in Jacksonville, and in 2020 expanded internationally. She is deeply passionate about empowering expecting and new mothers both on and off the mat and uniting them through shared practice, having experienced firsthand the transformative power of community, connection, and support throughout pregnancy and motherhood.
